Dennis starts utility work on Chase Avenue

The Town of Dennis announced Oct. 20 that two road construction projects are underway, each expected to bring detours and delays to nearby traffic.

On Chase Avenue, between Inman Road and Sea View Park, utility installation began Oct. 20. The work includes installing a drainage culvert and relocating a water main and services. Robert Our is performing the work, which is expected to take two weeks, with typical hours from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Traffic will be detoured around the construction site until the work is finished.

On Old Wharf Road, between Glendon Road and Sea Street, road construction began Oct. 19. The project involves installing drainage and reconstructing the road and sidewalks. Lawrence Lynch is performing the work, expected to last three to four weeks, also with typical hours of 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Traffic will be detoured around that site as well, though local and emergency traffic will be able to reach the area with help from police details or flaggers. The road will be made passable again at the end of each day.
