DENNIS — Zoning Study Committee launches two-stage review of affordable housing bylaw. Town Planner Paul Foley presented revisions focused on reorganizing and clarifying Bylaw 4.9, with a goal of Fall Town Meeting consideration for Stage 1 changes and more substantive revisions in a later Stage 2. Committee member Brian Hines raised concerns about a Planning Board provision allowing parking space reductions for affordable housing projects, citing existing problems in Dennis Port.
Jan Frazier flagged the bylaw's "10-month" year-round definition as potentially allowing summer-only rental leases that could leave winter renters without housing.
