Zoning committee rejects parking-requirement changes as Planning Board tensions simmer.

Dennis Zoning Bylaw Study Committee rejects tighter affordable-housing rules. Chair Kate Kane and four committee members voted 3-2 to defeat a motion by Jan Frazier that would have expanded affordable-housing zones and required state regulatory approval before issuing building permits or occupancy certificates. The Planning Board has opposed the stricter standards, and the public hearing on Bylaw 4.9 was continued to April 6.

The committee unanimously voted instead to pursue collaborative workshops with the Planning Board, targeting August 30 for a final draft before fall Town Meeting.
