The Dennis Zoning Bylaw Study Committee assigned members to research bylaws on tree removal, attainable housing, and short-term rentals.

Zoning Bylaw Study Committee · Meeting of September 17, 2026

DENNIS — The Dennis Zoning Bylaw Study Committee assigned members to research bylaws on tree removal, attainable housing, and short-term rentals. Chair Kate Kane tasked Paulo Rodrigues with surveying the town's 10,000-square-foot buildable lots and Jan Frazier with drafting language for income-restricted housing clarifying Certificate of Occupancy requirements. Current projects using the existing 3-bedroom provision are valued at $1 million or more.

Brien Hines was assigned to investigate short-term rental registration numbers and fees; the committee agreed to eventually cap short-term rentals in zoning code to encourage year-round housing. Discussion of variances was tabled.
