DENNIS — The Zoning Bylaw Study Committee moved forward on revisions to Bylaw 4.9, the town's affordable housing ordinance, with Town Planner Paul Foley describing the state's emerging Seasonal Communities Designation program and the committee identifying outstanding definitional gaps ahead of a planned public hearing. Since 2002, the town has approved 444 affordable units under the current bylaw, of which 315 have been built. Foley indicated the state designation could unlock future funding and said he will recommend it for the May warrant, though state-level definitions of "tiny houses" and mobile home requirements remain unsettled.
The committee identified unresolved language on sewer cost disclosure, parking near problematic intersections, commercial district apartment permissions, and water and septic allocation. The next meeting is February 19.
