Select Board · Meeting of February 3, 2026
Dennis Select Board unanimously endorsed a $30.6 million Community Center schematic design and directed staff to draft a Town Meeting article for voter consideration on May 5. Architect Brian Humes presented a 38,164-square-foot facility proposed for the Wixon School site, featuring a flexible gymnasium accommodating up to 1,500 people, fitness and exercise rooms, game and music space, and golf simulator amenities, plus 97 new parking spaces. The total project cost--$23.3 million in hard construction, $3.77 million in soft costs, and $3.5 million contingency--assumes bidding and construction in 2027.
The Board also unanimously approved the Duffy Health Center REACH Mobile Unit Van's use of the municipal parking lot in Dennis Port center, requiring compliance with Dennis Board of Health regulations, and instructed the Substance Use Disorder Advisory Committee to coordinate with Police and Fire Departments on placing naloxone boxes at private locations rather than Town-owned buildings.
