Select Board approves FY27 budget with $1.76M deficit, seats four committee members

Dennis Select Board approves $52.3M FY27 budget deficit forwarded to Finance Committee. Board Chair Chris Lambton and the five-member board unanimously approved the Departmental Operating Budget of $52,324,892 carrying a deficit of $1,763,936 and referred it to the Finance Committee for further deliberation. The board also unanimously approved four committee appointments, a new Police Officer and Licensing Board Agent, and four FY26 reserve fund transfers totaling $158,371 for fire equipment repairs, public works truck repairs, beach accessibility equipment, and Town Meeting broadcast equipment--all conditioned on return via warrant article at the May 2026 Annual Town Meeting.
The board set the 2026 Annual Town Meeting for May 5 at Dennis-Yarmouth Intermediate Middle School and the election for May 12.
