Dennis Select Board approves design planning for $1.8M Carleton Hall renovation, delays Wixon demolition. The Board unanimously advanced the Stone Hearing Room restoration project with hard costs of $1,458,166 and soft costs of $385,608, targeting May 2027 funding approval and final construction completion. The Board also unanimously voted to delay demolition of Wixon School and reconstitute a building committee to explore reuse alternatives, including potential partnership with the YMCA for community center conversion, after Select Board member Jim Plath argued the building's gymnasium and auditorium could be restored.

Assistant Town Administrator Greg Rounseville cautioned that structural deficiencies and required system repairs support demolition.
