DENNIS — Select Board approves $9,600 for Wixon School building assessment. The Select Board voted 5-0 to hire Rowes Architects to evaluate whether portions of the Wixon School building could be reused, including the auditorium, gymnasium, and classrooms. The subgroup, led by Cleon Turner and Select Board member Jim Plath, determined that a comprehensive evaluation by engineers and specialists in asbestos, heating, and electrical systems was necessary to establish physical and economic feasibility.
Approximately $120,000 remains from the original $300,000 appropriation established for the facility evaluation.
