Finance Committee · Meeting of January 6, 2026

Dennis Select Board advances $52.3M budget with $1.76M deficit. The board voted unanimously to transfer the FY27 departmental operating budget totaling $52,324,892 to the Finance Committee for review, with Town Administrator Elizabeth Sullivan citing state fiscal pressures documented in two recent Massachusetts Municipal Association reports. The Finance Committee, meeting jointly, unanimously approved four reserve fund transfers totaling $158,371: sixty thousand dollars for Fire Department Ladder Truck 110 repairs (ordered in August 2024 with a 48-month delivery timeline), fifty-four thousand five hundred dollars for Department of Public Works equipment repairs, nine thousand nine hundred seventy-one dollars for a failed ADA mobility mat at Mayflower Beach, and thirty-three thousand nine hundred dollars for MIS remote broadcast equipment.

All four transfers require warrant articles at the May town meeting for reimbursement from their respective funding sources. The boards also approved five committee appointments and set the Annual Town Meeting for May 5. ===END BRIEF===
