Planning Board approves EV chargers with condition for underground utility service.

Planning Board · Meeting of June 1, 2026

DENNIS — Planning Board backs electric vehicle charging infrastructure at Seasons Corner Market. The Board unanimously approved a Site Plan Review for four Level 3 DC fast chargers at 497 Route 134 on the condition that three proposed overhead utility poles be converted to underground service. Board members supported the community and economic development benefit of the charging station while rejecting the visual impact of new poles in a developed area.

The applicant, Route 134 Realty Trust, noted that Eversource's utility redesign could delay the project 12 to 18 months; the Board held firm on the underground requirement as Condition 5 of its 6-0 approval. In separate action, the Board unanimously endorsed a plan to combine two parcels into a single conforming lot for Koopman Lumber.
