DENNIS — Manse Committee honors Dave Talbott with emeritus status after 26 years of service. The Josiah Dennis Manse Committee honored Dave Talbott's retirement from the committee, granting him emeritus status following his 26-year tenure. Talbott, who played a principal role in the Manse's 2005 renovation and expansion, cited health reasons for his resignation.
The committee also approved a $300 memorial donation to the Saint Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in memory of Tom Kelleher of Sturbridge Village, a longtime presenter of blacksmithing and coopering demonstrations at the Manse's annual Colonial Day events. The committee identified grounds maintenance concerns including grass cut only once this spring, an untouched mulberry tree, and storm debris under the maple, and voted to invite Selectboard member Paul McCormick and DPW Director Mike Lavin to discuss building repairs at the July 8 meeting.
