Finance Committee recommends $1.7 million override, multiple school budgets

Dennis Finance Committee unanimously backs fiscal 2027 budget with $1.7 million override. Town Administrator Elizabeth Sullivan presented the override after identifying $768,454 in cuts including $300,000 in OPEB reductions. The Committee also recommended the $51.3 million operating budget, a $22 million Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District assessment with $348,050 override, and a $2.2 million Cape Cod Regional Technical High School assessment with $44,147 override.
The Committee voted 5-0 against recommending the $1.8 million community center design services article, with member Pat Stone citing lack of exploration of YMCA partnership alternatives and timing concerns given the concurrent override request.
