Dennis Shellfish Committee nominates constable for state award.

Shellfish Committee · Meeting of April 15, 2026

DENNIS — The Dennis Shellfish Committee unanimously nominated Constable Jordan Halloran for the Massachusetts Shellfish Officers Association Shellfish Constable of the Year award at its April 15 meeting. Committee Vice Chair John Lowell sponsored the nomination, seconded by member Jeff Doyle. Halloran reported herring runs are active at both local sites and solicited volunteers for spawning ground counts; the vibrio control plan season begins May 19, and new 2026-2027 Off-Road Vehicle stickers must be obtained by May 1.

The committee deferred to the Natural Resources Department a proposal to add code-of-conduct language to ORV regulations following summer incidents at Crowes Pasture.
