Dennis Select Board names Port Side Community Park, approves seasonal housing designation article

Dennis Select Board advances seasonal housing designation. The board voted unanimously to direct staff to prepare a Town Meeting article for the Seasonal Community Designation, which would allow affordable housing on undersized lots and tiny houses. Town Planner Paul Foley presented the program, noting Dennis qualifies because more than 35 percent of its housing stock is seasonal.
Paul McCormick requested the Health Director report on short-term rental enforcement by the February 24 meeting. The board also unanimously named the town property at 187 Upper County Road "The Port Side Community Park," based on a public survey where the name received 60 percent of 120 votes.
