Dennis Select Board approves $1.44M in municipal construction contracts. Vice Chair Carlyn Carey led the four-member board in unanimously authorizing $849,750 to MCE Dirtworks for Road Construction Services 2026 and $593,850 to Dig It Construction for a stormwater quality improvement project at Follin's Pond Road and Landing. Director of Golf Maryellen Fabiano-Stowe reported that cart barn renovation bids came in $415,000 over budget; the board voted unanimously to award the Highlands project and place a warrant article on the May Town Meeting seeking additional funding to re-bid the Pines project.
In warrant review, the board unanimously endorsed three articles for the annual meeting. The board voted 3-1 to continue deliberation on a Barnstable County Home Rule Petition proposing an optional regional real estate transfer tax, with Jim Plath expressing concerns about local financial control.
