Dennis Opens Nominations for Annual Public Service Award
DENNIS — The town has opened nominations for its annual Dennis Public Service Award, recognizing outstanding service by an appointed or elected member of one of the town's boards, committees or commissions, while the Dennis Public Library rolled out a run of summer programs for residents to plan around.

The Town of Dennis is seeking nominations for the Dennis Public Service Award, an annual honor recognizing outstanding service by appointed or elected members of the town's boards, committees and commissions, according to a notice posted to the town's News Flash page. Details on submitting a nomination are available through the town's website.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Dennis Public Library has a run of hands-on and educational programs on the calendar for the back half of July. A Pop-up Art School session on felted butterfly hoops is set for July 21 at 4 p.m., followed two days later by "Cape Cod History: Twelve Stories for Twelve Generations," a lecture on local history, on July 23 at 6 p.m. The library also has family-oriented offerings coming later in the month, including a STEM Fun Day on July 28 and a "Grow Your Own Mushrooms" program July 30.

Residents have several civic dates on the calendar over the coming week. Select Board members will hold drop-in office hours at the Dennis Public Library on Friday, July 18, at 10 a.m. The Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District School Committee holds a workshop Monday, July 20, the same day the Planning Board is scheduled to meet.
