Dennis CPC considers $100,000 for Housing Assistance shelter project. The Community Preservation Committee heard Housing Assistance Corporation's funding request for a $1.8 million renovation project in Hyannis that would create the Assistance Resource Center, an emergency shelter for Cape Cod homeless residents. HAC requested $100,000 from Dennis; Bourne, Brewster, and Chatham each approved $100,000, while Truro approved $20,000.
The 50-bed facility will partner with Catholic Charities for operations and Duffy Health Center for medical services. The CPC will vote on its recommendation at its July 23 meeting.
