Dennis climate committee organizes investigations into coastal initiatives. The Energy and Climate Resiliency and Sustainability Committee, chaired by Rico Maddamma, distributed preliminary investigations of 10 draft coastal resiliency initiatives among members for reporting in October. Committee member Mary DelBuono resigned, and Jen Marinella was appointed to the committee.
The committee is planning updates to the town's Emergency Management Plan and Hazard Mitigation Plan, with Town Planner Paul Foley arranging a presentation by Mike McGee, Dennis's Cape Cod Commission representative, on coastal-resiliency resources. The committee also discussed nature-based solutions as alternatives to coastal armoring.
