Dennis Closes Crowes Pasture ORV Area Effective Immediately

DENNIS — The town has closed the Crowes Pasture recreational off-road vehicle area effective immediately, according to a notice posted on the town's website, marking the most consequential town hall action of the past several days as officials also seek a new Finance Committee member and push forward a wastewater project update.

TOWN HALL

The Crowes Pasture recreational ORV area is closed effective immediately, the town announced in a notice posted to its website. No further detail on duration or reason was provided beyond the notice itself.

Separately, the town posted an update on its ongoing wastewater project, directing residents to the project page for the latest details. The town is also seeking a resident to fill a vacancy on the Finance Committee, and is accepting nominations for the annual Dennis Public Service Award, which recognizes outstanding service by appointed or elected members of the town's boards, committees and commissions. In municipal business from earlier this summer, the Select Board unanimously approved moving forward with the proposed design for Carleton Hall.

COMING UP

The Historical Commission and the Planning Board both meet Monday, Aug. 3, followed by the Conservation Commission on Thursday, Aug. 6, according to the town's online calendar.
