Dennis Board of Health approves seven septic system variances and two testing reductions. Chairman Covell, Vice-Chairman Bunce, and Members Chamberlain and Duffy voted unanimously to approve variance applications for basement finishing and additions at four East and West Dennis residences and two single-story rebuilds in Dennis Port, with conditions including quarterly testing and maintenance agreements where alternative systems were installed. The board voted 4-0 (with Vice-Chairman Bunce abstaining) to grant testing-frequency reductions at 28 Luscombe Lane and 10 Uncle Zeke's Lane from four times yearly to once annually in fall.
A sixth variance for new construction at 42 South Village Road passed 4-0 with engineer-submission requirements. Health Director Kristen Keller was present. The board also granted two show-cause reliefs: one to Liana Li at 314 Main Street, West Dennis, for food-service grease-trap sizing, and one to South Dennis Acquisition Corp at 485 Route 134 for temporary soil-absorption-system repairs, conditioned on sewer connection within 90 days of availability.
