Conservation Commission · Meeting of July 16, 2026

Dennis Conservation Commission approved trail improvements and processed summer wetlands applications in its July 16 meeting. The Commission approved administrative permits for a cedar staircase at Wilbur Preserve North and educational signage with fencing at Crowes Pasture to discourage unauthorized foot traffic. Four Certificates of Compliance were issued; three hearing Orders were signed; and four hearings were continued pending staff-drafted conditions.

The Commission endorsed a three-phase erosion study at Indian Lands Conservation Area contingent on Community Preservation Committee funding for later phases, following presentation by Rick Bishop of the Friends of Bass River. An enforcement matter at 30 Beach Road was resolved, requiring discontinuation of an unauthorized path and installation of mitigation plantings, with the citation reduced from $600 to $300.
