DENNIS — Committee charts refresh of Comprehensive Plan, targeting fall 2027 approval. The Dennis Energy and Climate Resiliency and Sustainability Committee received an update from BSC Group on the Local Comprehensive Plan revision, which will integrate climate resiliency and sustainability considerations across all plan sections rather than as a separate chapter. Committee members recommended enhanced emergency preparedness with decentralized shelters, zoning improvements for residential renewable energy, adaptive reuse of vacant buildings including Wixon School, expanded community gardens currently on a waiting list, and creation of a tree committee.
Consultants agreed to explore multi-language survey options and expand environmental and historic group outreach.
