Commission approves deck work, continues coastal projects pending revisions

DENNIS — Conservation Commission approves one deck project and mandates revised plans for major coastal work. The board unanimously issued an Order of Conditions for a West Dennis deck reconstruction at 50 Lanyard Lane, while continuing four significant projects--two beach-nourishment proposals, a deck expansion, and parking modifications--pending applicant revisions. The Commission rejected the West Dennis Yacht Club's proposed seaward bulkhead alignment at 259 Loring Avenue, citing permanent salt marsh impacts, and directed the applicant to submit plans placing the entire structure landward of the existing wall along with written structural justification; the state Department of Marine Fisheries and DEP concurred.
Conservation Agent Boyer reported a cease-and-desist violation at 228 Lower County Road involving unauthorized clearing and fill within a bordering vegetated wetland, with an enforcement order requiring restoration within 30 to 60 days and no option for a Notice of Intent.
