Board of Health reorganizes; approves five septic variances

Board of Health · Meeting of April 9, 2026

Dennis Board of Health reorganizes and approves five septic variances in sensitive areas. Chairman Paul Covell, Vice-Chairman Joseph Bunce, and Clerk Diane Chamberlain were unanimously re-elected at the April 9 meeting. The Board approved residential variances for properties at 3 East Bay View Road, 18 Chadwick Road, 12 Mahoney Way, 20 Oak Street Dennisport, and 85 School Street East Dennis, all requiring water-saving devices and Registry of Deeds recordation.

Member Chamberlain cast the sole dissent, voting against the Finne application over leaching-pit concerns. The Board also approved a four-bay commercial building at 5 New Venture Drive with a temporary tight tank pending sewer connection, and granted an appeal to remove I/A technology requirements from a 4 Bayberry Lane expansion, citing a recent passing Title 5 inspection.
