Board of Health discusses draft wastewater regulations and future mobile food code.
Board of Health · Meeting of January 22, 2026
Dennis Board of Health defers final wastewater regulations pending language revisions. Chairman Paul Covell, Vice Chairman Joe Bunce, and Members Diane Chamberlain and Robert Duffy worked with Health Director Kristen Keller and town officials to tighten residential flow caps at approved septic levels in Phase I, requiring all projects including accessory dwelling units to win board approval before proceeding. Wastewater Superintendent Richard (Val) Peter confirmed the treatment plant will finish construction by late 2028, giving property owners one year to connect.
The board scheduled a March work session to finalize the regulations and begin developing mobile food vendor standards distinguishing between drivable trucks and self-contained trailers.
